At SAFE, one of our priority values is finding ways to give back to the neighborhoods we serve, supporting the causes and organizations that make a real difference. Without our customers and communities behind us we couldn’t do what we do, and giving back is not only our honor, it's our commitment.
This is our community and we’re proud to give back
The 12th annual Get Behind the Vest Pancake Breakfast was held on Feb. 22. Noelle and Charles attended to show support of the cause and their pledge to donate $75 for every job booked in February, up to $3,500--which was met in full.
In support of the Get Behind the Vest fund raiser, Charles presented a donation of $3,500 to 19th Ward Ald. Matt O’Shea at the ward office on March 4. O’Shea hosts the annual fundraiser for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation (CPMF) initiative to purchase replacement bulletproof vests for Chicago Police Department officers. When CPD officers graduate from the police academy, they are issued a bulletproof vest, but if an officer’s vest is damaged by a bullet or if it has reached the end of its recommended usage, it has to be replaced. However, the vests cost upwards of $500, and according to O’Shea, many officers place their needs behind those of their families. Since its inception, the CPMF has replaced nearly 15,000 vests for officers.
